Our Story
I created Practicing Wellness because I saw a need that wasn’t being met. After a decade of practicing law in New York, the long hours, constant pressure, and relentless demands of work began to take a toll. At the same time, challenges in my personal life made it extremely challenging to balance the professional and the private. I found myself overwhelmed, exhausted, and out of balance.
Despite outward success, I struggled with stress and anxiety, increasingly disconnected from the things that brought me joy. My health, relationships, and overall happiness were suffering, and I realized something needed to change.
I decided to step back and reevaluate my approach to work and life. I began carving out time in my daily life for things that brought me joy, which in turn made me more energized and focused. I began exercising every day and exploring practices like yoga, meditation, and breathwork. Having these outlets generated a sense of calm and balance and allowed me to approach my work with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose.
This transformation inspired me to start Practicing Wellness. I wanted to share the resources I’ve relied on to help others find the balance they so desperately need. I know firsthand how easy it is to lose yourself in the demands of work, but I also know there is a better and more sustainable way to achieve success.
Practicing Wellness is a tool and a resource for attorneys to cultivate their wellbeing and build sustainable, fulfilling careers. My goal is to empower others to see that thriving in the legal profession doesn’t require endless stress and sacrifice — it’s through designing a life that energizes and nourishes you so you can bring your best self to work.
